Community Wellness Connections is a volunteer partnership between community organizations in Adams County, Pennsylvania, that are committed to health and wellness.
What We Do: With a focus on promoting better health outcomes for ALL residents, we promote community wellness connections. Essentially, this program is built on the idea that more people will be motivated to improve their health and well-being as they are exposed to a wide variety of activities that promote the following dimensions of health: Mind, Body, Spirit and Community.
Adams County has a 72% obesity/overweight rate, and only 19% of our community exercises 30 minutes a day, five days a week. Furthermore, over 30% of our children (k-12) are either overweight or obese, and 1 in 5 adults in Adams County have been diagnosed with depression. We hope to change these statistics!
Our Commitment: We can all appreciate the fact that the road to a better quality of life is a function of improved health. In this way, we have organized a resource tool so that activities promoting the dimensions of health can easily be identified. We are committed to educating the community about each of the dimensions, one at a time on a quarterly basis, and provide opportunities for residents to participate in activities related to each dimension. Additional benefits are increased morale, community connection, work satisfaction and to promote greater engagement. Furthermore, the program is designed to empower the community and enhance relationships.
How You Can Participate: Just follow these simple steps!
