Healthy Adams County is an ongoing collaborative effort to improve the health and wellness of our community. This effort is guided by a broad definition of health that addresses the cause of problems, not just the absence of disease; the development of community problem-solving capacity that involves diverse participation; strategies that use both long-term systems level change and short-term high impact projects; measurable assessment of community health and wellness; and evaluation of outcomes.
Strawberry Hill Nature Preserve is a non-profit conservation organization and education center located on 600+ acres in Hamiltonban Township, three miles north of Fairfield. The Preserve is open to the public and annually welcomes more than 10,000 visitors including students, hikers, birders, families, and scout groups. Access is provided by way of ten miles of hiking trails and through a diverse selection of family, children’s, and adult educational programming.

Healthy Adams Bicycle/Pedestrian, Inc.(HABPI) is a non-profit group of volunteers working to develop walking and bicycling trails or paths in Adams County for recreation and transportation. Walking and bicycling are wonderful ways to get some healthy exercise while enjoying the beautiful area around us. For some residents these activities can be a great way to travel to work and to travel around our communities for shopping and other trips.

UTH believes creativity, in all forms, is necessary for a healthy and fulfilling life. Growing out of the owner’s love for ALL things creative, UTH is branching out to include many creative outlets.
Adams County Arts Council’s (ACAC) primary goals are to provide high-quality arts in education opportunities for students of all ages, to support local arts presenters, schools, and artists, and to promote economic development through the arts.
ACAC is an active and well-respected community partner that works with more than 30 schools, nonprofit organizations, social service agencies, and local governments who help ACAC broaden its reach into the county.
