Non-Group/Self-Serve Spring Walking Parties

Date(s):  Wednesdays, April 22 to June 10

Location:  Various Adams County Locations

Sponsored by the Physical Fitness Task Force, an affiliate of Healthy Adams County

Walk trails at various locations on your own or with members of your household anytime that is convenient for you.  Walks are between two to four miles in length and are open to everyone.  Wear good walking shoes and bring a bottle of water.

Free On-Line Strength Training

Date(s):  Saturday Mornings                          Time:  9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Join Healthy Adams County’s Physical Fitness Task Force Saturday mornings for a fun, educational, strength training workout, led by local trainers. These workouts will involve minimal equipment (only a chair and soft mat, towel, or carpet necessary) and are geared for all ages and abilities. Facebook live will be used to share these workouts. So, tell a friend and tune in for a great way to add to your healthy lifestyle!

TBD:  Memorial Day Free 5K & Come Walk With Me

Date:  May 25, 2020                           Time:  8:00 a.m. (registration opens at 7:30 a.m.)

Location:  Wyndham Gettysburg Hotel Complex (95 Presidential Circle, Gettysburg, PA)

 Participants can take part in the timed 5K for the ‘Memorial Day Free 5K’ or walk your own distance for ‘Come Walk With Me’.  Events in addition to the run/walk include door prizes and medals for the first 50 children (12 and under) to finish, exhibitors and snacks.  Pre-registration is not required.  Free.  For more information call (717) 337-4137 or email jgastley2@wellspan.org.

 

QPR Training

Date:  June 3, 2020                             Time:  9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Meeting Source:  Zoom

QPR (Question.  Persuade.  Refer) is a nationally certified program taught by certified trainers. The course focuses on training individuals to be “Gatekeepers” – someone in a position to recognize a crisis and the warning signs that someone may be contemplating suicide.
