Picturing the Blues:  Photography for Healing (CWC sponsored event)

Dates:  Classes will meet Tuesdays February 12th through March 19th

Artistic expression is a helpful way to work with feelings of sadness, the blues, or depression. Explore photography as an expressive form while learning techniques that can be used with your camera or cellphone to take pictures that represent your journey. January 4 – March 1, Tom Rooney’s art will be on display at HACC’s Gettysburg Campus. His artwork features a collection of Gettysburg-themed watercolors, including barn art, streetscapes and historical buildings.  Free.

YW Brown Bag Lunch: Importance of Vaccinations

Dr. Ed Szoke will discuss the importance of receiving recommended childhood vaccinations. Dr. Edward Szoke, MD is a pediatrics specialist in Gettysburg and has been practicing for 38 years. EBHPS Program Your Backyard Geology

Date:  Wednesday, January 16, 2019      Time:  7:30 p.m.

Location:  Red Men’s Hall (332 West King Street, East Berlin, PA)

Jeri Jones, a local geologist with a specialty in geoarchaeology and the owner of Jones Geological Services in Spring Grove, will be the East Berlin Historic Preservation Society’s featured January speaker. Jones will answer the question, “Were there ever any volcanoes in this area?” as well as other fascinating questions such as, “Was the Battle of Gettysburg affected by geology?” Through his PowerPoint program, Jones will explore this area’s formation and the amazing northern movement of East Berlin over time.
